Introducing Maitreya Mesh

I’m going broke for you guys, but I suppose it’s worth it. Just take a look at my newest additions from Maitreya… I know I’m a little behind on the Maitreya mesh releases, but I’m sure you can forgive me.

Aren’t those wedges to die for? I was tempted to get the boots as well, but instead I bought the Neutrals fatpack (4 pairs for 1000L). They go for 500L a pair, so it’s like you’re getting two free pairs of shoes… or at least that’s what I told myself after becoming broke because of this visit to Maitreya. To check out the full range of mesh products at Maitreya, go here!

I also updated my Windlight settings to those that Luna Jubilee uses. I really wanted to be able to use a studio but still have shadows and an overall nice picture, so I’m extremely pleased that Luna’s work for me! As you can see I’m still in the learning process of using shadows in my pictures and such, but I’ll get better with time, I promise!

Oh, and one last thing before I go. The only little issue I ran into with wearing all of the mesh at once is that you need the alpha layers to hide parts of your body that may stick out, but you can’t wear more than one alpha layer at once (at least not in Firestorm). What I did was I wore the blouse in size Large and used the shoe alpha layer, but just a heads up for you guys! x

End of the Year Sales

There’re sales galore in SL right now if you just do a little searching! Select stores – Atomic, ploom, -paper.doll-, Illusory, Cheeky Pea, and Aura – are participating in a year end 50% off certain merchandise sale, so here’s a peek at my savings!

I own a good portion of Atomic clothing already, but I grabbed these jeans and adorable top for a combo of 125L. I added on the leather jacket and black ankle boots just for a more edgy feel to an otherwise very feminine outfit! x

Hair: elikatira Early

Shirt: Atomic Lovely Chiffon in Jade

Jeans: Atomic Ripped Skinny Jeans in Vintage

Jacket: DeLa Leather Jacket in “Bebe” Black

Shoes: Journey Boots in Black

Before anyone says anything, yes, I refuse to take this hair off. End of story.

Moving on, I am having way too much fun playing around with shadows and depth of field. It really makes the photos so much more professional looking, and I don’t even have to edit my pictures for blog posts anymore!

I finally splurged on this amazing blazer from Mon Tissu – yeah, took me long enough. It goes perfectly with this cute, wintery dress from Tres Blah (only 88L at Collabor88) and the tights just pull it all together. :)

Say Hello to Change

I wasn’t kidding when I said I can enable shadows now! Aren’t they beautiful? I’ve always loved the ability to use shadows in SL, but my computer has never been able to support them without completely crashing. I can’t wait to use shadows for blogging and travel around SL for my blog posts, so look out for that in the near future. :)

Today I’m just wearing one of the new mesh items from Mon Tissu and an older pair of black jeans from there as well. I hope you and your family have a Merry Christmas if you’re celebrating today, look out for some new posts with shadows this week lovelies!

P.S. Almost forgot, I took this photo in my little 11-year-old RP shape! Woopsies! c:

Style #44

Hi, everyone. Today I’m showing off some cute pieces from Grixdale that I simply never got around to blogging. The first item is this yellow tank: I love the polka dot detailing and all of the different colors in it, such as pink, red, olive, etc. The other item from Grixdale is this pair of worn jeans, which are well-textured and adorable. These two pieces are sold together for the duration of the month of April, but you only have access to them if you’re a Grixdale VIP.

Something else that I’d like to bring up today is my blog and the goal I have for it. When I began this blog, I was full of ideas and could barely wait to post the outfits I brainstormed – my queue was filled with upcoming posts {often with two weeks’ worth of outfits}. So, why am I telling you this? Well, lately I’ve just lost my passion to blog all of the new things in SL that I discover. My outfits seem to all blend into looking like the same thing, and that’s not my intention for this blog at all! I want to go back to creating distinct, good-quality blog posts, and if that means not posting frequently then that’s what I’ll do. I think that what I need at this time in my life is a short break from blogging and the SL world so I can find some creativity and do what I love to do – post outfits for you guys! I will still be participating in the 52 Weeks of Color Challenge, so look out for those posts, but just expect posts to be a little more few and far between than they already are! /end ramble

Anyway, have a lovely week – I will see you all on Saturday with my Periwinkle post.

Patterns, patterns, patterns!

Today, I bring you a mash-up post full of – you guessed it – patterns! Spring trends this year are bright, colorful, and have many patterns involved, so that’s what I’m showing you guys today!

The outfit on the left is very 70s inspired, which is another look that’s coming back as well {but let’s not get into that quite yet – another day!}. I simply adore this cute little shirt from Tres Blah for the Seasons Hunt: Spring! P.S., if you haven’t started that yet, start hunting! Many great items to find!

Next, the dress worn in the middle is sporting another popular spring trend – feathers! I think this piece has a lot of potential to be matched with a nice sweater, some leggings, whatever you want. Unfortunately, I didn’t have anything in my Inventory that went with it very well, so I just added some heels and let it be!

Finally, my favorite outfit/pattern of all – the outfit on the right! I don’t know why, but I just love something about this particular outfit. The shirt from Mon Tissu is so perfect and well-made and the rest of the outfit coordinates so nicely! :)

Have a fabulous week!

Style #43 – Surf Co. Releases!

A beautiful sunset!

Guess what? There’s been some new releases from Surf Co. and I’m here to show you some of the beautiful goodies, so let’s get started!

First is this tank. One of the things I love about Surf Co. is you can find pretty much any color your heart could desire at this store, and so today I picked out this pretty ice blue color. I’m a huge fan of the detailing on Surf Co.’s clothes, so of course I love this tank’s details too!

Next, some adorable little skirts were released. You don’t often see me wearing mini skirts in SL, but every so often I find a keeper and this is one of them!

Finally, there is one last item. Though this item is not new to Surf Co., it certainly is new to my Inventory – and this item is the knotted wedges I’m wearing. I have no idea why, but for some reason I never purchased these. Let me just tell you that if you are like me and never got these shoes, go grab them now! So cute!

That’s about it for today, have a great week! :)
