52 Weeks of Color Challenge: Wenge

As the 52 Weeks of Color Challenge draws to a close, I’ve had an ample amount of time to think about my blog and the future of my blogging in Second Life. I’m not the greatest of bloggers – I don’t have the most amazing picture quality, most creative outfits, or most expensive and best made clothes, but blogging has definitely taught me quite a lot… even if my contribution is but a speck on the radar. Blogging has taught me about Photoshop, websites, community, and so much more, and even if I’ll be disappearing from the Second Life fashion blogger community for a spell, I’ll always remember these valuable lessons. If/when I return, I hope to be able to contribute more to this blog and to Second Life in general. Now I am busy with RL, and whenever I do manage to make it on SL I’m spending all my time at the Hogwarts: Your Story RP. Throughout my long years on SL (previous to my creation of this account) I’ve learned that it’s impossible to be good at everything and you cannot stretch yourself too thin. My choices were either focus entirely on blogging or focus entirely on roleplay, and at this time I’ve chosen to spend my time in SL roleplaying.

Anyway, here’s my outfit for this week’s color: Wenge. I really do like this color, a nice and deep gray, perfect for fall. I especially adore this new cardigan from Vive9 – definitely a must-buy! I hope you all have a wonderful week!

Discountlicious

Oh lookie, I’m doing another discounted fashion post! I’m not the richest gal around, so I do get the majority of my clothing from events (like 50L Friday) or special collaboration stores (such as The Dressing Room).

If you’ve followed my blog for a while, you know I’m a huge boots with skirts girl. When it’s done right. Like any fashion trend, boots with skirts can go horribly wrong – trust me, I’ve seen it! It takes the right pair of boots and the support of some well-picked-out accessories in order for it to work. Check out my outfit below: do you like it?

I absolutely adore this dress from Tres Blah, it’s so simple yet classy. The boots I’m wearing are one of my favorite pairs, if not my absolute favorite pair of boots in Second Life. I love how you can wear these boots with a casual outfit, yet you can also dress them up with some attire toward the formal end of the spectrum.

Next, we have some of my new favorite pieces in my wardrobe. I’ve never been a huge outerwear-in-SL fan, but this jacket from Tee*fy has definitely changed my mind! I got it during 50L Friday a few weeks back, and boy am I glad I got it. It’s the perfect fall staple for any wardrobe. Next, the skirt. I don’t own any skirt quite like this one; it is very different from the norm, but I really like it!

I think the reason I was drawn to it was because it mixes neutrals but has that pop of yellow for some color, which is another one of my favorite trends – color pops! I’ll definitely be wearing this outfit a lot this fall.

Comment question(s) of the day: What is your favorite trend for fall? Where are your favorite discount places to shop ISL?

52 Weeks of Color Challenge: Firebrick & Bronze

I’m not dead, I promise!

Jeez, it’s been a while since I’ve done a blog post! Luckily enough for me, this week was quite easy, even though I had to play catch up and combine two weeks. Firebrick and Bronze go together so well and are perfect colors for fall {especially Firebrick – red is so in this fall!}. I especially love this bag from ISON, it is the absolute perfect shade for Bronze!

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

52 Weeks of Color Challenge: Electric Blue

My slightly intergalactic-inspired outfit.

It seems crazy that 35 weeks of this challenge have already passed by, so let’s make the most out of the remaining 17! This week, I looked at the color swatch and immediately TPed to Emery {where else can I find all of my bright colors? ;-)}. I spotted this shirt, which is very different from my typical style but I loved it all the same. When I realized that I had a necklace and boots that coordinated perfectly with the remainder of the outfit, I was beyond excited! I picked these boots up on a whim at The Dressing Room a few weeks ago, and this SIGMA necklace I’ve had for ages now. And, of course, my outfit would not be complete without an adorable little hair from [elikatira]!

I hope you all have a lovely week, and I’ll see you guys back here for Week 36!

52 Weeks of Color Challenge: Jade

<3

Jade is one of my favorite shades of green, so I was happy with this week’s color choice {hey, at least it wasn’t some obscure shade of brown!}.  I’m not going to lie and say that putting together this week’s outfit was a breeze, but isn’t this Emery blazer simply delicious?

I tried my best to bring out the different elements of the blazer with the rest of my outfit.  First off, I knew I didn’t want to be too colorful, because the color jade in itself is pretty bright!  So, what I tried to do was tone down the rest of my outfit with shades of yellow, brown, and light pastels.  I’m very pleased with the outcome, and I hope you like it too! :-)

Also, I’ve been trying to tweak my shape and find good windlight settings for posts.  I’ve been trying desperately for months to be able to work shadows well enough for blog posts, but so far I’ve had no luck.  And when it comes to my shape, I’m satisfied with my face, but I feel as though the rest of my body could use some work – even though I’m just happy that I can at least make decent shapes!  I’ll probably be working on these two projects for the remainder of my Second Life, but if anyone has any tips be sure to let me know! <3
